I wish I did the research before today :( I feel so foolish now, because in the hour after I'd paid, it started to sink in that things were getting kind of fishy! I really really wish I'd have read this before, I went for the interview thinking that I'd be answering questions, but ended up having my card swiped and paid for. And I paid $490 too! The man told me that I only needed to bring 2 dresses and then after that, I received a text of a whole list of clothes/shoes to bring for the photoshoot after I had paid. It's almost as though you're just paying for them to shoot you in your own clothes. Thing is, I am an assistant photographer and stylist, and I have worked with professional photographers.. Clothes are always provided (by your shoot stylist) and make up done. And when I texted the guy, I got no replies either on why I had to bring so many things when he only said I had to bring 2 dresses (to mix and match). Not even sure if I want to go to the shoot... After waiting, I was interviewed by the interviewer. He seems very nice and showed me all the models printed commercial. I was intrested until he told me to make a portfolio of $1600 ! Lemme tell u an agency should not sell the porftolio, tell them u have ur own photos already if they accept it then they are the real agency.
