People and Mobile Phones

Mood: Annoyed

Hay everyone!

An entry here just to relief myself of this matter regarding people and their mobile phones.

For LITE.FM listeners, you may have heard a message (from Zack, if not mistaken) about how people are so glued to their phones that they no longer pay attention to an actual person across them?

Even if you have not heard of this message, I am sure you are well aware about how most people are so obsessed with their phones, texting away and leaving for their partner or family staring obliviously at the floor.

We see this happening everywhere, young and old — in malls, cafes, restaurants, while lining up to buy things and even at home, you may be talking to your sibling about something cool to later find you were exuding to the wall for this entire time. So yes, mobile phones are stealing attention from our loved ones.

That said, clearly we find this manner to be bad and rude correct? And that people should look up and realize how much we have sank in to our little high-tech brick; lost in Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp.

Well I used to think it is wrong of us to be engrossed with our phones to the point of neglecting genuine communication with real people and I stood by the principle of keeping my phone out of reach when hanging out with others.

Until… One day I found a reason to justify playing with phones regardless of how the other feels. I think I found out why do people bury their heads into their phones.

It’s simple: Your friend SUCKS. Your partner SUCKS. Your mum SUCKS.

All they ever talk about is how they are treated unfairly, why the other table who came later got their food first, how annoyed they are about their friends and family, why is the weather so hot (or wet), how much the food stinks and the list of whines and complaints goes on — endlessly!

If you are one to enjoy negative conversation and bitching, then this is pleasing to your ears.

However for me and some of you, it’s a bloody pain to the ears especially since this kind of conversation — rephrase: one-sided conversation is unhealthy and tends to loop.

I know most of us are too coward to tell our noisy friend to stfu therefore what are we to do?

Either we set our minds offline and nod ourselves silly to their every word, counter them with positiveness (which is like an attempt to kill Nemesis with a butter knife ) or simply — have yourself occupied with your phone.

Because reading books isn’t enough to shield you from your lousy friend who doesn’t seem to know when to quit yakking and drink some water already.

All this having said — I so get it why do some people meddle with their phones and refuse to interact in person. It’s all because of the other’s self-absorb, ever self praising and loads of complaints are just major turn offs.

The thing is — those people don’t get it when you try and tell them about their attitude and how their negativity psychos you. Their skull is too thick and covered with layers of ‘me, me, me and me’ hence we just give up and sort entertainment and relaxation elsewhere i.e our phones.

Now as much as I have stated above, I do think for certain cases some people are seriously nuts with their phones that sometimes the opposites are not to be blamed. That is obviously, bad manners and rude.

But otherwise, do think why you’re more interested in your phone — or why your friend is more interested in hers.

Obviously, there is something going on but neither one of you can fess up.

Time to nap and relinquish the voices of nags and whines from my head now.

Perhaps next time I should be bold enough to wear a headphone and blast away some Tokio Hotel songs when facing people who is born a mouth entirely.

Good day, everyone~♥!

This is your retarded sheep, Ms Aya who has not been reporting to you faithfully.  <´•ω•`>↓

( ↑ Can one consider the above as double eyelids OR one and a half? Mmm… )

First and foremost, I wish everyone a very happy and glorious new year. Another year means a mere repetition of the previous years’ festival and celebrations. Well anyway, nothing so great happened during my long absence from PaperDiaries.

Just to let you know currently I am using Samsung Galaxy SII~. ↓

However should you have any questions about using a Blackberry Bold 9780, Samsung Star and Ice-cream phone — I suppose I can still provide you some answers therefore, feel free to ask away. <^_^>/

So regarding my review on the Samsung Galaxy SII, please give me another 2 weeks (or more) to post it because I am still very noobish with the phone.

For now, I can spare a few comments though.

Plus Side:

  1. Lots of cool and free apps on the Google Market.
  2. For users who wishes to type Japanese characters with their phone — SII gives you the pleasure of doing so.
  3. 2 cameras – Primary 8 megapixels (back of the phone) and Secondary 2 megapixels (Front).
  4. Customize-friendly themes
  5. Fun-to-use phone.

Down Side:

  1. The apps has the tendency to run on their own in the background resulting battery drainage.
  2. Can be quite difficult to type and need a lot of practice.
  3. Lousy camera quality — Looks rich and vibrant on your phone screen but otherwise when transferred to computers.
  4. Managing and moving files is troublesome. It’s much easier to manage when plugging into your PC.
  5. The phone has to be switched on at all times if you want your alarm clock to ring.

There you have it, 10 things to point out about the Samsung Galaxy SII.

Sheep shall go into detail and share some info on certain apps as said — hopefully 2 weeks from now.

Moving on…

Here is a rather spur of the moment decision I made in the beginning of January~

Permanent tattoo~! <´v`>/~~

I have been playing with the idea of getting a permanent tattoo since high school but never gotten serious about it. Until some time ago when I thought of drawing a character with some magical inscription on her feet that enables her to walk along the sky — only then I thought about tattoos.

The tattoo artist helped me with the design since I couldn’t really design on my own. I chose to put my star sign (a proud Gemini) and the sun and moon to symbolize a balance of masculinity and feminism. Despite that I rather have wind as my symbol for it represents Geminis accurately, it would be hard to fathom the shape at a glance.

Anyway… So how does it feel like to have your skin tattooed?

Well it feels like a vibrating blade drawing on your skin. No heat felt, just cutting into your skin.

They say the pain is measured by which part of your body and how many needles are used. For solid parts such as feet, the pain is mere and bearable. As for the fleshy parts.. (Laughs)

I’d say — The pain is bearable. The thing that kills would be the itch.

Yes.. The itchiness is unbearable in my opinion, especially since you are not allowed to scratch or rub for at least 3 weeks.

You see.. that is exactly what is slowing me from finishing this blog entry. I am struggling to type with one hand because the other is smacking the itchiness away.

Oh goodness I feel like a damn masochist enjoying the beatings inflicted on my foot. (Laughs)

Damn it!

Sheep shall write more to you guys in the comments section IF you all do stop by.

Mood: Bored!

Good morning, everyone~!

This is Ms Aya who is wishing to juggle 2 jobs!

I think it’s cool to hold down 2 jobs at the same time. Double the experience and double the income!

However having a second job is out of the question at the moment because I have already signed a contract with my current work place and they strictly disallow ‘traitors’. <;__;> (Tears)

Unless I secretly take up another job and to make sure my cover does not get blown; perhaps working as a mascot is the safest? ↓

A&W bear!

(Laughs nervously)

Working in a huge ass and itchy costume is definitely not one’s dream job however I think it’s a fun thing to do — for a short period of time of course. <^-^>

I want to experience working as a mascot for kicks and giggles and yes, I am quite serious about this! XD

Besides my colleagues won’t recognize me in the suit therefore it’s safe and totally out of the radar kind of job. <^v^>/

I have not thought of which mascot to try out yet. Perhaps working in a theme park would be fun. ↓

Sunway Lagoon’s Blue bird ↑

(Laughs)

Then again Sunway Lagoon is in KL… Too far! <≥A≤>/

Anyway, I’m planning to take up some odd jobs in KL once my current contract expires — that is in 2013. <´•__•`>

Mascot is one of them and the other is … ↓

.. to work as a waitress in a Maid Cafe~~♥! <^v^>/

(Laughs)

Well… I will blog more on this next time because — I’m at work now and people won’t leave me alone! <TAT> (Tears)

De wa.. <.__.>

Question: Have any of you worked as a mascot or at a maid cafe? Please do share your experience! Is it fun or a “Hell NAW! That job sucks!?”
