Mood - On cloud nine

Yo-oh~!

Damn…Sheep is running out of punchlines to start her introduction. <∏A∏>lll

Gomenapai! <≥A≤>/

Anyway, this is going to be a short entry as I have nothing in particular to write about other than publishing my latest artwork. <—ω—>

However, it is not an original artwork of mine; I copied from this book: Drawing and Painting the Undead by Keith Thompson, as a practice. ↓

Out of the many characters, I chose to copy the ‘Fungal Zombie’ because I like the uniform and its stance~. ↓

Rough sketch ↑

Complete art after coloring↑

Once in a while, it’s good to copy other experts’ artworks as a practice and to learn some new techniques. Moreover, explore the endless boundaries of art.

Currently, I’m more into rough sketches and art style that isn’t too manga-like. All I can say is, after going through the compilation of artwork from ‘The Garden of Eye Candy’, my perspective on art has changed dramatically as I no longer visualize in the anime and manga image. <OAO>

Then again, it does not mean that I will stop drawing manga characters. (Laughs nervously)

Baa~<u_u>

De —This is my rough sketch of the fungal zombie~. ↓

NB: Copied. I copied. Not an original artwork of mine. Sheep COPIED!

Baa~

Here’s a kind reminder to all the artists who are reading this:

When you are drawing a full-length body, always remember to draw a layout of the body or measure how much of space you are planning to take up because you don’t want to realize later that you have not enough space to draw the legs.

My fungal zombie almost lost his legs because I underestimated the space and did not draw out a proper layout. Fortunately, there was just enough of space to draw the boots otherwise, it would look really funny and incomplete.

Just so you catch my drift: ↓

Suppose you really have not enough space to complete up to the legs/shoes, then I think you should change the pose/stance rather than shorten your character’s legs. To force your character to become a midget all because you didn’t take precaution of the space, that’s so cruel! (Laughs)

(Sigh) My fungal zombie could have been taller…(Tears) <;__;>

Before I drew this picture, I was in grave depression to the point of feeling lifeless. But strangely, after drawing this zombie — all of the sudden I feel so ALIVE! <^x^>/

!! Fukatsu !!

Sore ja — The sheep who revives from drawing an undead, takes her leave~!

Ended up, my character leg-less LOL

Sheep is kind and lenient so I’ll spare you all another 5 years to live. Baa… 10 years for kioko because she is still young and has many more things to see and experience!
